Good Things To Come

Well I feel like it has been too long since someone wrote something on here!! I miss my girls! How are you? How are you lives? What are you doing??

As I am sure you have heard by now, I just up and moved to California! It really has been such a blessing and a much needed change in my life! I have landed in the most adorable house, straight out of a pottery barn catalog! And I am pretty sure I couldn't have found cuter roommates!! I have been wanting to move here for almost a year now, and so when life tossed me some lemons I decided it was time to make some lemonade and make a BIG change in my life! It has been near one of the sweetest experiences of my life and I truly have felt myself becoming more acquainted with the Lord day-by-day! This has become my new favorite quote...

I love that man, and his words have brought me so much peace this past month! I am learning to not only trust God... but I am also learning how important to keep believing that there are good things coming my way! I remember my mom always telling me when Christmas time came around, "If you don't believe, you won't receive!" How true that rings now!

Hope all is well my sweet sisters!! Please come visit me any time you like!! I have room and I live 15 minutes from my dear friend Mickey!!

XOXO

Sophie Marie Lefrandt

I am sure you girls have heard by now but I am an Aunt again! It hasn't been the easiest road but we have felt the love and prayers of so many and know that there is an army of friends fighting for Sophie :)

Ashley went in for an emergency C-section and as a result Sophie was born with a punctured lung and some serious infections. The good news is today she is off oxygen!!! She will still be in
the hospital for another 14 days or so but things are looking so much happier! Mom and Dad finally get to hold her and she is nursing!

It is times like these where I am reminded of the blessings in my life, you, my wonderful friends are such blessings!! Thank you for your prayers and kind words during what seems like so many of our family trials :)

Our family scripture is always a great strength to me!

"Therefore, dearly beloved...let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power, and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for His arm to be revealed" D&C 123:17

Sure love you all!

XOXO,

Perle

Pearls

Hello ladies,

I thought that I would give you background on this blog. During Christmas break I had a lot of time to think as I was on a couch for a few days recovering from surgery. As usual my mind went crazy with lots of ideas, and this was one of them. I wanted to create a place for our friends to share whatever they wanted be it recipes, new books, new finds, songs, scriptures etc. A place where we could keep posted on each others accomplishments, and successes. And a place we could find ways to serve those in need. So I called Jeanette knowing that she would be all for this plan and together we brainstormed to find a name which would fit. Then I remembered Jeanette's love of pearls. Little did I know how perfectly the pearl would represent the mission of this blog and the beautiful women that would be a part of it.

So as I researched pearls I learned some interesting things. This is what it said on Wikipedia

"The finest quality natural pearls have been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries, and because of this, the word pearl has become a metaphor for something very rare, very fine, very admirable, and very valuable."

Then I found this poem on Wikipedia too.

Hymn of the Pearl

When I was a little child,
and dwelling in my kingdom of my father's house,
and in the riches and luxuries of my teachers,
I was living at ease.

[Then] from our home in the East,
after they had made preparations,
my parents sent me forth.

[...]

Then they made with me an agreement,
and they inscribed it in my heart so that it would not be forgotten:
"If [you would go] down into Egypt
and bring [back] the one pearl,
which is in the middle of the sea
surrounded by the hissing serpent,
then you will put on your glorious garment
and your toga which rests (is laid) over it.
And with your brother, our second in command,
you will be heir in our kingdom."

[...]

I went straight to the serpent,
around its lodging I settled
until it was going to slumber and sleep,
that I might snatch my pearl from it.
Then I became single and alone,
to my fellow-lodgers I became a stranger.

[...]

But in some way or another,
they perceived that I was not of their country.
So they mingled their deceit with me,
and they made me eat their food.
I forgot that I was a son of kings,
and I served their king.
And I forgot the pearl,
on account of which my parents had sent me.
Because of the burden of their exhortations,
I fell into a deep sleep.

But [because of] all these things which happened to me,
my parents perceived [my oppression], and were grieved for me.
[...]
And they wrote a letter to me,
and every noble signed his name on it.

"From your father, the king of kings,
and your mother, the governor of the East,
and from your brother, our second in command,
to you, our son, who is in Egypt, peace.
Awake and arise from your sleep,
and hear the words of our letter.
Remember that you are a son of kings,
consider the slavery you are serving.
Remember the pearl,
on account of which you were sent to Egypt.
Think of your glorious garment,
remember your splendid toga,
which you will put on and wear
when your name is called out from the book of the combatants (athletes).
And with your brother, our viceroy,
With him, you will be in our kingdom."

[...]

I remembered that I was a son of kings,
and my free soul longed for its natural state.
I remembered the pearl,
on account of which I was sent to Egypt.
Then I began charming it,
the formidable and hissing serpent.
I caused it to slumber and to fall asleep,
for my father's name I named over it,
and the name of our second in command (our double),
and of my mother, the queen of the East.
Then I snatched away the pearl,
and I turned to go back to my father's house.
And their filthy and unclean clothing,
I stripped off and left it in their country.

[...]

and my glorious garment which I had stripped off,
and my toga which was wrapped with it,
(from Ramatha and Reken), from the heights of Hyrcania,
my parents sent it there,
with the hand of their stewards,
who, on account of their faithfulness, could be trusted with it.

[...]

I clothed [myself] with it and ascended,
to the palace of peace and worship.
I bowed my head and worshipped him,
the brightness of my father who sent it to me.
Because I had done his commandments,
so also he did what he had promised.
And in the palace of his scribes
I mingled with his teachers,
because he rejoiced in me and received me,
and I was with him and in his kingdom.
And with the voice of praise,
all his servants were praising him.
And he also promised that to the palace
of the king of kings I will hasten with him.
And with my offering and with my pearl,
I should appear with him before our king.

Amazing huh? Anyway, I love you all so much. Start blogging!!

LOVE you all,

MofP

bellezza is officially my name... it's Italian for beauty. I think I found the color that fits me most adequately. My color is orange:

"social, playful, warmth, desire, emotional, courage, success, relationships, power, happiness, strength, authority, endurance, stimulation"

Can I just say how absolutely enthralled and ecstatic I am to begin this beautiful blog?!? I just love girls. I've never been able to grow up with sisters... and I think I found them all right here:)

Love you more than a thousand bars of marabou chocolate...even the minty kind

Yours truly-
Megan Marie

My Ladies!

What a fun little club we have going on here!

Well, not that it's too surprising, but I think I will be the Pink pearl.

"Health, Love, Generosity, Romance, Power, Purity, Passion, Energy, Kindness, Compassion, Loyalty, Faith, Protection, Happiness."

Still iffy on the name though...bouncing around a few ideas. Maybe the Tiffany Pearl, as I'm obsessed with Audrey and that movie?

"Symbols of perfection, pearls are the most classic of gems, bringing an air of elegance and sophistication to the women who wear them. No name in fine jewelry says “classic” more than Tiffany & Co., and in Tiffany Pearls, the venerable institution’s longtime design director traces the dazzling history of pearl jewelry at Tiffany, from the mid-19th century to the present, including fascinating accounts of many of the world’s most famous pearls since the Renaissance. "

Or Akoya, which is a famous vintage Japanese pearl. advice?

Megs, I love your name. Its very fitting and so adorable.

Love you all!
